EYES on Experience

Despite our best efforts, it seems we have yet to inform the entirety of St Albans of our presence.  So, this week, we thought we’d focus (yep, that’s a deliberate pun) on the experience we offer at EYES on St Albans – how we aim to deliver our vision (deliberate again) of providing eyecare and eyewear of excellence to everyone who visits us.

What do you mean ‘experience’?!

When Jez opened the shop in 2018, he was determined that no appointment or purchase in the shop should be purely transactional – nor should it be rushed in any way. 

Exceptional eyecare

That’s why all our eye examination appointments are an hour long.  Giving our optometrists the chance to carry out a really thorough examination and for you to share your concerns, let us know about anything you’ve noticed changing with your sight and/or any lifestyle changes that might be affecting your vision.

Sometimes our examinations don’t take that long – we’re not going to force you to stay or offer ‘extra’ tests that you have to pay for.  All our scans, retinal photography and tests are included in your single examination fee.

Confidence boosting eyewear

Whether you need a new prescription, new lenses for your current glasses or just fancy some new frames, Jez is always on hand to help you choose a new look, explain the different types of lenses available and to help you find ‘that’ frame that just makes you smile when you put it on. 

Our eyewear collections change seasonally  – reflecting the current trends and Jez making sure that you won’t find any of the same ones in high street stores.  If you want to go and grab a coffee and think about a pair, that’s fine.  Want us to take a picture of you wearing them to show your family first – pass your phone over and we’ll do that for you too.

We don’t want your visit to us to be onerous (we hope that the 3 hours free parking and the great coffee next door help with that too).  Your experience with us at EYES on St Albans is as important to us now as it was when we opened – and we aim to make it exceptional every time – with just a little bit of rock’n’roll thrown in.
